Cooles und für BrewDog auch ungewohntes Dosendesign! Das "BrewDog Ellon Albino Squid Assassin" ist ein rotes Roggen-IPA mit stattlichen 7,4vol.% Alkohol. Im Glas sieht das Bier so aus wie erwartet: Dunkelrot und leicht hefestumpf ist es, der Schaum ist überdurchschnittlich deutlich. Meine Nase kann fruchtige Aromen wahrnehmen, die auch Karamellnoten enthalten. Geschmacklich ist es leicht fruchtig, eine leichte Säure kommt durch. Grapefruitschale ist zu schmecken, sehr würzig ist es ist, ich könnte es auch gut bitter nennen. Die nächsten Sekunden erinnern an verbranntes Karamell, auch ist Schokolade mit dabei. Den Alkohol kann man leider auch wahrnehmen, das sorgt für bittere Aromen. Viel Körper wird geboten, das Bier ist relativ komplex. Mit der Zeit schmecke ich Ananas und eine süße Banane, dann wird es wieder würzig und später auch etwas pfeffrig. Das "BrewDog Ellon Albino Squid Assassin" ist gut. Aber so richtig überzeugen kann es mich nicht. 7/10 Punkten!
